NEW FORMAT is a Vancouver, Canada–based design studio founded to explore innovative concepts in design and manufacturing. We create pieces in conversation with both historical design and contemporary materiality, using simple forms and paying careful consideration to function and balance, as the work resides in context.

Our practice is rooted in continuous collective learning and hands-on experimentation. The studio was founded in 2013 by Henry Norris.

PRAIRIE DIVIDER SCREENS - Debuting at Sight Unseen OFFSITE 2018. Geometry inspired by the art glass of Frank Lloyd Wright, revisited with a contemporary palette and method of making. An attempt to reference the form while considering the root of how and why this inspiration was first applied. How would FLW have used the technique if he had the ability to cast plastic flakes in tinted resin?
